A general process of cattle feed pellets production consists of the following steps.

Based on the type of animal and its age, the raw material is selected and mixed in a fixed ratio. This raw material is dried if it has large water content. Reducing water content is necessary because water can reduce the quality of cattle feed pellets.
After purchasing raw material it is stored in a large tank. Before converting it into pellets or passing it through the pelletizing machine it is crushed into small sized particles with the help of a feed hammer mill.
Once the raw material has been thoroughly grounded, certain additives are added to it to increase the nutritional value of pellets. Feed pellet blender is then used to mix raw material with these additives to increase its uniformity.
In this step, the crushed and blended raw material is fed into commercial cattle feed pellet making machine. The key components of this machine are rollers and die. They put pressure on the raw material to convert it into pellets. Compressed pellets come out of the holes of dies where they are cut into pellets of the desired size.
When the raw material is pressed and pressurized to pass through the holes, the friction rises the temperature of pellets. So, before storing them into bags they must be first cooled down. To reduce their temperate cool air is used. Other than it, newly formed pellets are also passed through a vibrating sieve. It separates good quality pellets from fibers and other materials. It also helps in reducing temperature.
In the last step, cattle feed pellets are weighed and stored in bags. Later the manufacturer either sells them in the market or feeds them to his cattle.
