The vibratory grizzly feeder is designed to combine feeding and scalping functions into one unit, thereby reducing the cost of having two separate units. Vibratory Grizzly Feeders are primarily used in primary applications to feed primary crushers. Vibratory grizzly feeders provide continuous feed rates under a variety of load and material conditions.

Vibratory Grizzly Feeders are designed to withstand heavy impact loads from trucks, shovels, and loaders. This type of feeder can be used in quarries, recycling, industrial processing, mining, and sand and gravel operations, as well as a wide range of processing industries.

How does the Vibrating Grizzly Feeder work?

The vibrating grizzly feeder consists of a disc section at the feed end to receive and begin separating material. The discharge end consists of a lattice section with openings to allow undersized material to pass through before being discharged into the crusher.

The feeder is mounted on a spring and vibrates by a mechanism located below the feed pan to prevent misfeeds that do not reach the feed hopper. The vibratory force is angled to the feeder and directed towards the discharge end. This action of the vibrator forces the material to flow toward the discharge end while separating the material and moving the finer particles toward the bottom of the load.

GZZ Series vibrating grizzly feeders are developed to handle ROM material, used in feeding a primary crusher,  reducing the load on primary crusher and withstand constant abuse because of the blind plate in the feed end, grizzly bars in the discharge end.

As the material moves to the grate section, the finer material settles to the bottom and passes through the openings in the grate. This bypassed material reduces the amount of material entering the crusher, reducing the size of the required crusher and the wear inside the crusher.

The bypassed material can be mixed with the material passing through the crusher on the conveyor below. This pre-screened material protects the conveyor below from the material coming out of the crusher. The pre-screened material can be separated as a product or discarded if the fines in the material are contaminants.

Popular applications for vibratory grizzly feeders

The primary use of vibratory grizzly feeders is to feed primary crushers in primary applications. Vibratory Grizzly Feeders reduce the amount of material entering the crusher by de-sizing the product prior to the crusher. This reduces the size of the required primary crusher.

Vibratory Grizzly Feeders can be used in crushing plant applications to sort ROM material for dams, water control, and decorative stone applications; to sort gravel in dredging applications for decorative landscaping applications; to remove dirt and scalp other materials to increase product value for the customer; or to disperse material from a conveyor to a wider secondary crusher such as a roll crusher, where a lattice section is not required.
