Have you ever worked with MDO? If you're going to be making paint grade cabinets, I highly recommend you look into. It may be a little more expensive - I am paying about $70 a sheet for 3/4" but it really pays off when it comes time to apply the finish, and that seems to be half the battle. Also, the outer layer is a resin-infused fiber, so splinters from cutting are just about non-existent. It does have some small voids every now and then which may show if you have an exposed edgeI believe you can special order it from Home Depot, but I usually get mine from a lumber yard that keeps it in stock.
